“White Christmas” was first heard on the radio on Christmas Day, 1941, shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Bing Crosby sang Irving Berlin’s beloved carol that day, and this musical story has filled us with yearning and wishfulness for peace and well being ever since. We do long for the old days, sometimes. But we also look to the future, and at this time of year, as the calendar turns to a fresh page, we pause to take stock and give thanks. May your days be merry and bright, and may all your dreams come true in 2016.
